Cardinal Hospice Care
Designed and Developed
Cardinal Hospice Care is a North Carolina hospice organization serving patients and families across multiple counties. Ferdinand designed and developed a compassionate, information-rich website that helps families understand hospice care, access resources, connect with the care team and begin the referral process.
Problem
Families navigating a hospice decision are often under significant emotional stress and time pressure. Cardinal Hospice needed a website that could serve as a trusted educational resource — explaining what hospice care is, what to expect, and how to begin — while also serving as a practical tool for physicians making referrals and for families seeking immediate contact. The site also needed to clearly communicate the organization's multi-county service area across North Carolina.
My role
Ferdinand designed and developed the complete Cardinal Hospice Care website — covering information architecture for a multi-audience hospice site, patient and family education content, service area pages, referral pathways, bereavement resources, partner information and contact workflows.
Website Strategy
The site is structured to serve three audiences simultaneously: families in the early stages of understanding hospice, patients and families already in the care process, and physicians and healthcare partners making referrals. Educational content is organized to reduce anxiety and build trust. Service area coverage is clearly communicated across multiple North Carolina counties. Contact and referral pathways are accessible throughout.
Engineering decisions
The content addressed misconceptions as well as services. The experience needed to guide families and healthcare professionals from an understandable explanation of hospice to eligibility and referral information, with clear contact opportunities along that path.
