I’m Ferdinand Munoz, a systems and network engineer based in San Antonio, Texas. My work connects the physical network, the systems running on it, and the people who use them. Across more than fifteen years in technology, I’ve worked in healthcare IT, custom software, infrastructure, installation and digital forensics. From support to technology leadership
I began in hands-on support and systems administration: configuring workstations, managing networks and troubleshooting operational problems. That hands-on foundation helps me connect technical decisions with the people and operations that depend on them.
Over time, that experience expanded into leading infrastructure initiatives, directing software-development teams and owning the technology strategy for healthcare organizations operating under strict regulatory demands.
Healthcare technology
My healthcare work includes laboratories, medical practices, hospice and home-health technology. I directed EMR/LIS integration work across NovoPath, athenahealth, LIMSABC and eMDs, alongside Axxess Hospice technology support. During COVID-19, I developed QR-based sample tracking, repeat-patient LIS registration and a CRM supporting patient outreach and free test-kit programs.
I have also designed HIPAA-aligned security environments and operational-continuity systems for organizations where downtime has direct patient-care consequences.
Builder and developer
I build the tools my clients actually need rather than adapting their workflows to off-the-shelf software. DistroDocs is a full-stack medical-distribution platform I designed and built from the ground up.
Beyond that, I have written custom Python automation for data extraction and transformation, built database-backed internal business systems and designed data pipelines for healthcare and professional-services organizations.
Forensic investigator
Through IQ Forensic, I apply digital forensics and technical analysis to matters where findings carry legal weight. I provided forensic analysis, custom technical tooling, evidence organization and courtroom exhibit support to a defense team during a year-long federal healthcare-fraud trial that concluded with acquittals.
My work includes evidence acquisition and analysis, cybersecurity incident investigation, litigation support and expert-level documentation of technical findings for attorneys and courts.
The physical network matters
My hands-on experience includes running and terminating cable, rack and patch-panel work, testing and certifying connections, and configuring the network. In healthcare environments, that has included Ubiquiti equipment, access points, Cisco firewalls and VLANs, together with camera systems, alarms and access control.

I work across technical troubleshooting, development leadership and infrastructure delivery. I have managed a team of 14 full-stack developers, coordinated vendors and stakeholders, and designed AWS environments with continuity requirements. I use that experience to connect executive priorities with practical engineering decisions.
